Guthrie Product Acquisition Technician-Pharmacy-Full Time in PA, United States

Position Summary: The Product Acquisition Technician performs all activities associated with purchasing pharmaceuticals for Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital pharmacy and The Guthrie Clinic. Education, License & Cert: High school graduate or equivalent with a basic math and science background. Experience: A minimum of three year’s previous pharmacy experience in the health care environment is preferred. Essential Functions: 1. Processes all purchase orders for assigned areas and coordinates purchase of standardized drugs. 2. Monitors contract compliance to ensure full savings potential. 3. Maintain drug recall action log and submits report to safety officer monthly. 4. Process drug recalls 5. Communicates drug shortage and work with Pharmacy staff, Pharmacy Management and appropriate providers if necessary to ensure alternate therapy options available. Other Duties: 1. Establishes and maintains the proper professional and ethical relationships with all sales representatives. 2. Serves on committees as appropriate. 3. Participates in Quality Improvement process including: Identifying areas in which quality improvement process can be applied, collecting and organizing quality measurement data, and participating on Quality Improvement Teams. 4. Performs other duties as assigned. 5. Maintains appropriate confidentiality.
